What happens if I need to cancel my course?

- Courses at Nettlecombe Craft School require 4 weeks written notice via email to cancel or reschedule. If notice to cancel is provided more than 4 weeks prior to the course, the course cost will be refunded to you in full, OR your place can be transferred onto another available course.

- If we receive notice less than 4 weeks from the beginning of the course, the booking is not transferable or refundable, unless your place can be filled. We will advertise your course and in the event we are able to sell the place at short notice, you shall be refunded for the full amount minus a £20 cancellation fee, or be transferred onto the next available course, depending on which you prefer.

- This policy is to protect our course facilitators, who often have to prepare materials at a cost to them. Late cancellations can cost our facilitators and us time and money, so we hope this comes across as fair and reasonable. Of course we will try to resolve any problems that come up as fairly as possible, so if you do need to cancel at late notice, do contact us by email and we will see what we can do to help.

Can I camp at Nettlecombe Craft School?

- There is space on the plateau of our workshop site to pitch tents if you are staying overnight for a course. There is also space in our carpark for campervans should you be visiting us in one.

- Camping will be charged at £5 cash per night. You are welcome to stay the night before, during, and the night after the course finishes.

- If you get to us by bicycle, then your camping is free!

Is there alternative accommodation available locally?

- There are many campsites, hotels and B&Bs in the local area, if you prefer not to camp with us. We will be happy to provide you with details of suitable places nearby.

- Equally, if you are looking for a place nearby for an evening meal of a drink, we will be happy to recommend good places locally.

Can I park on site/how is the access to the craft school?

- There is ample parking at the entrance to our beautiful woodland, just off the main road through the green gate.

- Our workshop is a 2 or 3 minute brisk walk up a reasonably steep hill. If you have any mobility assistance needs, we can arrange to drive you up to the workshop site.

Do I need to bring my own food and drink with me?

- We will provide lunch for our day or multi-day courses, which will usually consist of fresh, simple vegetarian food.

- If you have any particular dietary requirements please do let us know in advance and we will strive to account for these.

- People are also welcome to bring their own food if they prefer. We have a small kitchen area with gas hobs, a kettle and cookware which you are welcome to use.
- The kettle will never be far from the boil, and we will offer free tea and coffee with oat or cow milk. Drinking water will also be available.

Do you have a toilet on site?

- We have a compost toilet on site for all to use.

What time do courses start and finish, and what time do I need to arrive on the day of my course?

- We ask that you are on site by 9:00am, ready to start the course for 9:30am. Tea and coffee will be available in the morning whilst we all meet and get ready for the course to start!

- Most of our courses will finish for 5:00pm. If some extra time is needed to finish the item you are making, we will usually be happy to allow for this, and equally if you finish early and need to leave, that is absolutely fine.

What clothing/footwear do I need to bring?

- Many of the courses we offer will be using sharp tools and heavy materials. As such we ask that no open-toed footwear is worn (sandles, flip flops etc), and recommend walking boots or even steel toe cap shoes if you have them.

- In the colder months you may want to bring warm clothes and a coat. Our workshop is located in a woodland and whilst there is ample shelter from the elements, it can get cold at the start and end of the year.

- We recommend against wearing things such as long jewellery or loose clothing for safety.

Can I bring my dog with me?

Due to there being pheasants kept near our site, we regretfully ask that people do not bring their dogs with them to our courses.

Are there any age restrictions on courses?

All of our courses are currently for ages 18 and over.

What is included in the cost of the course?

All materials, tuition, lunch and refreshments are included in the cost of the course.

What do I do if I have any particular needs?

Please contact us by email to discuss any needs you may have with us, and we will do all we can to account for any requirements. We want to make your time with us as fun and comfortable as possible, and will endeavour to accommodate your needs wherever possible.
